---------------------------------
This is Rainboot3 - your personal Multimedia featured
bootup. But it's much more than only a bootup viewer...
Rainboot3 is a fully multimedia application which will
also enable you to create real multimedia programs!
So get this version now, as it's a real real major
update!
Here's what exactly has changed:
· Updated AmigaGuide® documentation
· Included some new configurations: AmigaCD32Boot, AmigaOS3.5 (thanks to Stephan
Zander aka teknique), MultipleAnims, RainbootManual)
· Updated the demo configuration
· Added some info files to the archive
· Updated installation script and added graphics to it
· Updated RBSSAdder to recognize Rainboot3 entries also
· Added Rainboot.library v1.0 which contains some useful functions (but only
private ones currently)
· Fixed a bug which caused the %TW function not to work correctly at bootup
· Finally fixed the problem with incorrect values when using %INFOVOL with
hard drives which are bigger than ~1.2 gigabyte or so [16 bit limitation
of my compiler]; this calculations are now made by the Rainboot library
which is fully in C. The library will pass the value as a string then
to Rainboot
· Possibility to use a zero delay with cycles (to speed up cycling when
using multiple cycles)
· Several other changes
· Added new keyword %SCREENUP which scrolls in the picture upwards at
the start (opposite of %SCREENDOWN)
· Added new keyword %FADEWBOUT which will fade out the Workbench !before!
displaying the configuration. This makes of course only sense if it's
used from Workbench and not during the bootup
· Removed all Workbench 2.x code from Rainboot; it requires now at least
Kickstart 3.0 (v39) to work
· You can now switch off the automatical play of module number 1 if you add
the parameter DONOTPLAY before the filename
· Rainboot accepts and plays now also MED modules (requested by some users)
· You can now use even more than one module with Rainboot: I rewrote the
whole music code and Rainboot is now more flexible than ever. You can
use as many modules as your memory allows and you can also mix the
modules, e.g. use Protracker together with THX etc. (requested by many
people)
· Added extensions for the %P and %S commands. With the parameters E and D
you can disable and enable specific %MOUSEON and %MOUSECLICKON events
(requested by Markus Castro)
· Added new %WM command which waits for user input (mouse move or click)
· Added %MO command which halts the config until the user moved the mouse out
of the in %MOUSEON defined area
· The labels are preparsed by Rainboot now, so that the jump to them won`t
take much time
· Added %O label which is needed in conjunction with %MOUSEON
· Added %MOUSEON keyword which defines an area where the specified mousemove
can be catched
· Added %M label which is needed in conjunction with %MOUSECLICKON
· Added %MOUSECLICKON keyword which defines an area where mouseclicks can be
catched
· Added new POINTER argument which will display a pointer on the Rainboot
screen (needed for user-controls)
· Added support more multiple cycles and changed some things to stay compatible
with older versions of Rainboot
· Animtask uses more stack space now (8kb)
· Changed some things to stay compatible with older Rainboot configurations with
one animbrush
· You can use now the commands %AP, %AL, %AO and %AS for playing and stopping
animations
· Rainboot can now handle more than one animbrush!! You can use now as many
animbrushes as your memory and gfx hardware allows. On AGA it`s getting very
slow when playing more than 3 anims at one time. Please also note that anims
need a hell of memory
· Added new copy protection, probably the most heavy I've ever written; I'm
almost sure that Rainboot3 won't be cracked
Be sure to get it.
Now have fun with this version and send me
feedback,
Andreas
