ZZRastan 1.0
============

ZZRastan is a standalone recreation of Taito's Rastan arcade hardware
for classic Amiga computers equipped with an MNT ZZ9000.

It is not a normal 68k game port. The original arcade CPUs and hardware
are emulated on the ZZ9000 ARM Cortex-A9 Core1, while AmigaOS handles
the launcher, RTG display, input and AHI audio.

ZZRastan is freeware for non-commercial use.

ZZRastan is not open-source software as a whole.


IMPORTANT - FIRMWARE REQUIREMENT
--------------------------------

ZZRastan requires XACP firmware XX19 or later, or another ZZ9000
firmware explicitly declared XACP-compatible, together with the
matching zz9000.card.

ZZRastan is not compatible with the official MNT ZZ9000 firmware 1.13
and is not compatible with Blitterstudio firmwares.

A standard ZZ9000 installation therefore needs an XACP-compatible
firmware/card installation before ZZRastan can be used.

Installation
------------

Copy the ZZRastan drawer to your hard disk and place your legally
obtained Rastan ROM files in the "roms" drawer.

Launch ZZRastanGUI from Workbench. The GUI can auto-detect the ROM set
or force World/Japan.

No ROM images, graphics, music, samples or other commercial game data
are included in this archive.


Licensing
---------

The Amiga 68k launcher and ZZRastanGUI are proprietary closed-source
software:

  Copyright (c) 2026 Xanxi.
  All rights reserved.

They may be redistributed unmodified as part of the complete ZZRastan
freeware package. No permission is granted to modify, relicense or
incorporate these proprietary components into another project.

The ARM Core1 blob, zzrastan.bin, contains original ZZRastan code and
third-party components under several different licenses. It does not
have a single blanket license.

Corresponding source for the ARM Core1 blob is publicly available from
the ZZRastan 1.0 GitHub release tag.

Third-party components retain their respective licenses. The relevant
copyright and license notices are included in the licenses drawer.

The availability of Core1 source does not make ZZRastan as a whole
open-source software.

The Amiga launcher and GUI are separate proprietary programs; their
source is not included.
