A series of programs to control some functions of the accelerator
for A1200, Trinity 1240/1260

History
-------

v.1.2 (24/Aug/26)

New fpga upgrade core for trinity with 6581/8580 SID audio chips:
With this new core version, we have included the PSG AY-3-8910
       and SID 6581/8580 audio chips.
We have included two versions of the core, one with PSG+SID and
another experimental version only with DualSID without PSG
support. Flash whichever one you prefer using the TF command.
The advantage of having these chips integrated into the
accelerator's FPGA is that you can play music that uses these
audio chips without using CPU power.

v.1.1 (24/Nov/24)

Some features added in Trinity MUI util:
Add PAULA_MIX to icon Tooltype for set a default volume
Add temperature sensor for 68060 rev.6

v.1.0 (19/Nov/24)

   First public release

Requirements:
-------------
For Trinity tool: Magic User Interface "MUI"
https://aminet.net/util/libs/mui38usr.lha

Installation
------------

- Copy TF to c:
- Copy TS to c:
- Copy ahi_mon to c:
- Copy Trinity to prefs:

Use
---

- TF "TrinityFirmware" is a shell util for upgrade the bootrom firmware.
USAGE:
tf write firmware.bin
(After flashing the FPGA, switch off the computer, wait 10 seconds and
switch it back on)

- TS "TrinitySpeed" is a shell util for control the speed of the CPU.
USAGE:
ts [speed] [040] set

USAGE EXAMPLES:
ts 50 set (for 50Mhz in 68060)
ts 66 set (for 66Mhz in 68060)
ts 75 set (for 75Mhz in 68060)
ts 100 set (for 100Mhz in 68060) < warning with temp

ts 66 040 set (for 33Mhz in 68040)
ts 80 040 set (for 40Mhz in 68040)
ts 90 040 set (for 45Mhz in 68040) < warning with temp

- ahi_mon "AHI Monitor" is a shell util for control Paula passthrough.
USAGE:
ahi_mon $AE0001 [volume 0-100]

USAGE EXAMPLES:
ahi_mon $AE0001 VOL 100
ahi_mon $AE0001 VOL 50
ahi_mon $AE0001 VOL 0

- Trinity is a workbench MUI program for control the CPU speed and set
the volume of passthrough. Its like TS and ahi_mon but with interface.

Notes
-----

- "TF", "TS" and "ahi_mon" utils have been coded by Miguel Fides.
MUI Interface util has been coded by Tolkien/Goblins.

- The SID core used has been implemented from scratch on FPGA by
Ramon "Rampa" Martinez

- The PSG core used has been implemented from scratch on FPGA by
Miguel Fides

FAQ
---

- Is there currently any PSG or SID player that support this new
version of the core?
- YES, the current hippoplayer 2.67 version by K-P Koljonen

- Can the playsid.library that comes with hippoplayer be used
with other programs so as not use up CPU resources, for example
the MagiC64 or Frodo emulators?
- YES, you can test MagiC64 or other utils that use playsid.library
This way, you'll be able to check that CPU usage is
virtually non-existent, whether the audio is enabled or not,
as the Amiga no longer has to emulate de complex filters in
    SID chip.
Remember set trin in your SYS:Prefs/Env-Archive/PlaySIDMode

- Why are there two versions of the core? Is the DualSID version
really not stable?
- Actually, both versions are stable, dont worry for that.
The idea was really to fit the PSG and SID chips and keep
thinking about further improvements to the accelerator.
(Perhaps an RTG module in a future? network? USB? SD?)
But Miguel Fides, on his own initiative, realised that if
he removed the PSG chip, two SID chips would fit on the
FPGA. The meant we couldn't add any further improvements
in the future, but even so, we've decided release it to the
public, bearing in mind that this experimental core won't
be abble to receive any future upgrades as th FPGA is
    already 95% full.

- Can I use my own util/demo with the sound chips built into
the Trinity?
- Sure! here you've info https://gitlab.com/mfides/trinity_sw

- Where can I download PSG or SID songs?
- https://www.hvsc.c64.org
