If you have version 3.0e, you don't need this file! Download PGS3EF.LHA.
This update requires disk 1 of your original PageStream3 disk set. It will
not be modified by the update.
There are several archive files for this update, but you only need two of
them. You must have a version of PageStream3 installed on your hard drive;
it doesn't matter what version you have, as long as you download the
correct archive files.
If you have version 3.0, you need: PGS3F.LHA & PGS30F.LHA
If you have version 3.0a, you need: PGS3F.LHA & PGS3AF.LHA
If you have version 3.0b, you need: PGS3F.LHA & PGS3BF.LHA
If you have version 3.0c, you need: PGS3F.LHA & PGS3CF.LHA
If you have version 3.0d, you need: PGS3F.LHA & PGS3DF.LHA
If you're not sure what version of PageStream3 you have installed, run it
and check the version number in the Navigator requester.
Once you have your version correctly installed, decompress both archives
to the same directory. Decompress them both to RAM: if you have
sufficient memory.
IF YOU HAVE 5MB OR MORE OF RAM, you can decompress the archives to RAM
and not worry about memory limitations.
IF YOU HAVE 4MB OF RAM, you can decompress the archives to RAM, but you
must delete the archives from RAM before running the patch. (Copy them
somewhere safe in case you need them again.)
IF YOU HAVE 3MB OF RAM, you cannot decompress the archives to RAM.
Decompress them to your hard drive.
A drawer called "3.0fUpdate" will be created when you decompress the
patches. Both archives contain this Read.1st! file, so your decompression
program will ask if you it is ok to overwrite the first Read.1st! file;
this is normal. Double click on the Install-PageStream3.0f icon in this
drawer to begin.
YOU SHOULD KEEP A COPY OF THE PATCH FILES UNTIL AFTER YOU HAVE
SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED THIS UPDATE IN CASE YOU NEED TO RUN IT AGAIN OR
MANUALLY. IF YOU DELETE THEM AFTER DECOMPRESSING THEM, AND SOMETHING GOES
WRONG DURING PATCHING, YOU WILL HAVE TO DOWNLOAD THEM AGAIN!
TECHNICAL NOTES: this update will patch the PageStream3, BME and
PageLiner program files in your PageStream3: directory to version 3.0f.
Every other file required to use 3.0f is included in the PGS3F.LHA
archive. Note that you cannot use 3.0f modules with earlier versions.
LOW MEMORY NOTES: If you do not have enough memory to install this patch
(the SAS patch utility will fail if there is not enough free memory), you
can conserve memory by decompressing the patch archives to your hard
drive instead of to RAM:. If the patch fails due to low memory, you will
not be able to use PageStream3 until you have successfully installed the
patch because you will then have a mixture of 3.0f and earlier files. If
you need to run the patch manually, decompress the PGSpatch.LHA (or
BMEpatch.LHA or PLpatch.LHA files as applicable) archive found in the
appropriate PGS30F.LHA, PGS3AF.LHA...PGS3DF.LHA file. Use the spatch
utility in the PGS3F.LHA file. The command syntax is:
spatch -oPageStream3:PageStream3.0f -pPageStream3.pch PageStream3:PageStream3
spatch -oPageStream3:BME2.0a -pBME2.pch PageStream3:BME
spatch -oPageStream3:PageLiner2.0c -pPageLiner2.pch PageStream3:PageLiner
The first parameter is the new version, the second parameter is the
patch file name (include the path if required), and the third parameter
is the currently installed version of PageStream3. Delete the old version
(PageStream3, BME or PageLiner) when you're done and rename the new
version to the old version (ie, PageStream 3.0f to PageStream3).

download each patch, or don't want to call to find out when each patch
